About us :)

Our sea-side bush town is unique, our school is unique and your child is unique :) We believe that the children of our school are so fortunate to live in such a remote and beautiful part of our country where alot of their time is spent outdoors. We would like to capitalise on these beautiful surroundings and engage your child with ICTs to capture this magical area in which they live. The fact that we live in a remote area, sometimes makes it more difficult for us to communicate with you about your little person as not everyone has the latest ICts in our remote community. We also understand that you can't always pop in for a yarn with us. However we truly believe that learning is a journey and that family is such an important part of each and every childs life, we would love you to be able to be a part of this journey with your child. Through the use of ICTs in our classroom, we are endeavouring to keep you more involved and in touch with your childs learning and school life, make links to each childs home environment, practices and cultures to understand them better and engage children in all aspects of ICTs to ensure that they have the same opportunities to become successful, capable Global Learners that children who live in the cities have.

I have included a link to a very interesting article about the advantages of being involved in your childs educational journey.

Together we can lead our children into the future..........

Our school follows the Australian Curriculum and as such aims for your child to achieve the outcomes set out in this Framework.

Our Grade One History Class is focusing on Family and Individual History and this will then lead on to learning about our country History and followed by world History further along the Learning Journey in other grades. As a teacher, I see this as a great opportunity for us all to get know each other and our children better. We will use a variety of ICT methods during this unit and I hope that you will become as involved as you possibly can, so we  can all learn together. I have included a link to the Australian Curriculum Grade One History for your convenience so you can understand the rationale behind the learning of this topic.
